Hunt Tabs Heim For Partial Xfinity Series Slate

MOORESVILLE, N.C. – Officials from Sam Hunt Racing announced Wednesday that Corey Heim, last year’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series regular-season champion, will contest a partial NASCAR Xfinity Series schedule with the organization this season.

Heim will pilot the No. 26 Toyota GR Supra for multiple races this year under the guidance of team owner Sam Hunt. Heim’s first Xfinity Series start of the season will take place March 2 at Las Vegas (Nev.) Motor Speedway.

“I can’t wait to join Sam Hunt Racing again in 2024,” said Heim, who ran four Xfinity Series races last season. “I saw improvement throughout every start I made with SHR in 2023 from top to bottom, including in myself as a driver. That’s really what I’m looking for in a partnership — the constant push to be better, and I know SHR will continue to make that their goal in 2024. 

“It really excites me as a driver to be part of a group like this,” Heim added. “I’m looking forward to building this year together and contending for wins.”

Heim, a 21-year-old from Marietta, Ga., is part of the Toyota Racing Development pipeline and collected three wins, 12 top-five, and 19 top-10 finishes in 22 Truck Series races last year. Overall, Heim has five Truck Series wins, including two wins a year ago.

He was also part of SHR’s first double top-10 run at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway in May.

Heim, the 2022 Truck Series rookie-of-the-year, will return to the seat of the No. 11 Tundra TRD Pro full time for TRICON Garage in that division in addition to his Xfinity Series races with SHR this year.
